Learning from mistakes

Today I read the following tweet:

No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.

My first thought was: “yeah, but you’re still way behind everyone that already know their limitations“. The misconception that you learn from mistakes, is far more widespread than I thought. When my kids are doing their math homework, the learn because they repeat doing it right. When they do something wrong, I will show them how to do it correct and then they continue doing it right.

I would love to rephrase the above quote to something like this:

If you keep making mistakes or progress slowly, you should either stop doing whatever you are doing or find yourself someone to teach you to do it right
